Tomorrow is such an easy place to put things.

I'll start tomorrow.

I'll call tomorrow.

I'll apply tomorrow.

I'll rest tomorrow.

I'll say what I need to say tomorrow.

I'll finally do the thing I've been thinking about tomorrow.

And tomorrow is comforting because it asks nothing from us today.

There is no risk in tomorrow.

No rejection.

No possibility of getting it wrong.

No uncomfortable first step.

Tomorrow lets the dream remain perfect because we haven't touched it yet.

I wonder how many things I've placed there.

Not because I didn't want them.

But because I was waiting.

Waiting to feel ready.

Waiting for more money.

Waiting for life to settle down.

Waiting for confidence.

Waiting for permission.

Waiting for some future version of myself to arrive and finally become the person who could do it.

But she doesn't arrive all at once.

We become her by doing some of the things we've been leaving for her.

And sometimes "maybe tomorrow" isn't procrastination.

Sometimes it's fear wearing softer clothes.

Sometimes it's exhaustion.

Sometimes it's survival.

Sometimes today truly isn't the day.

There is grace in knowing the difference.

But there are also moments when tomorrow has become a hiding place.

And eventually, we have to ask ourselves:

How many tomorrows am I willing to give something I already know matters to me?

I don't have to finish today.

I don't have to know exactly where this will lead.

I don't have to feel completely ready.

Maybe I just have to stop asking tomorrow to do what one small decision today can begin.
